Džaferović in Baku: International relations are becoming increasingly complex and unstable

BAKU, (Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović addressed the opening of the 7th Global Baku Forum, which brings together world leaders and addresses issues of global importance.

In his address, Džaferović emphasized that international relations are becoming increasingly complex and unstable, less predictable, and bring more uncertainty.

- Global and regional challenges, crises and conflicts continue to become more complex and deepen. The phenomena and processes we are witnessing are not limited only to the places where they emerged and only to their direct actors. On the contrary, these are phenomena and processes that cause fundamental changes in the architecture of the international order. We are witnessing a deep crisis of arms control agreements, on which international security has rested for decades. We are witnessing changes to trade agreements that have for decades represented the framework of international economic cooperation. Large migration waves, climate change, terrorist threats, the rise of extremism, international crime and discrimination remain burning issues.

Džaferović said that countries with experiences such as Bosnia and Herzegovina are strongly committed to respecting, protecting and promoting international law and a global order based on universal values and generally accepted rules of international law.

- Bosnia and Herzegovina is committed to multilateralism and determined to act in accordance with the obligations arising from international conventions and membership in international institutions.
I firmly believe that commitment to multilateralism, respect for international law and adherence to shared values and a global order based on accepted rules are the best way to address the complex challenges we face, and the right path towards a better and safer world - said Džaferović.
