Džaferović silent on Alispahić, Mehmedović says he was dismissed behind the scenes

Deputies of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH were not willing to comment on current events in their party today, especially Bakir Alispahić's interview with the portal “Klix“, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Alispahić, after a long silence, addressed the public and advocated for reforms in the SDA, criticizing the current leadership's decision to dissolve the Security Committee and pointing to the decreasing democracy and dialogue within the party.

Šefik Džaferović, a member of the SDA Presidency and a representative in the BiH Parliament, told NAP that he did not want to talk about it, recommending that they discuss it with Asim Sarajlić, the vice-president of the SDA. However, Sarajlić was not present at the session of the House of Representatives of the PSBiH today.

- He is late, he will surely come, but I cannot talk about that topic. We have divided our responsibilities and each has their own domain in which they can comment on something - said Džaferović. However, we waited for Sarajlić in vain, and other deputies did not express their views either.

On the other hand, Šemsudin Mehmedović told NAP that although he is not in the SDA leadership, he believes that the biggest problem for this party is the fact that the SDA president Sulejman Tihić is ill. He expressed the view that the dismissal of the Security Committee was done "behind the scenes".

- I believe that the dismissal of the SDA Security Committee was done behind the scenes. My opinion is that this is an extremely unnecessary move at this moment, but what is done is done. My party has a problem because the president is ill, but it is defined by statute that the deputy president performs the function of the president. Now, the fact that there are different dissonant tones and problems regarding certain political issues is normal. We are a large political party and that is quite expected - Memedović told NAP.

In an interview with Klix.ba, Alispahić said that the SDA must open space for younger, competent cadres who will be given a real role, not just to be mere statistics, noting that they can expel him from the SDA, but they cannot expel the SDA from him.

Deputy Mehmedović also commented on surveys about who will be the new president of the SDA.

- It is clear that the message to the public is that the membership wants to elect the president of the political party. The results showed that less publicly known candidates have support, but they are not unknown to SDA members and vice versa - those who present themselves as leaders lacked support - added Mehmedović.
