Džaferović spoke with Đukanović: Protect Bosniaks in Montenegro

(Patria) - The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šefik Džaferović, spoke today by phone with the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, regarding the concluded elections and the latest events related to attacks and intimidation of the Bosniak population in Montenegro.

Chairman Džaferović called on President Đukanović for the institutions of Montenegro to make additional efforts to protect Bosniaks, and to prevent new attacks, threats, and provocations. President Đukanović accepted Chairman Džaferović's appeal with understanding and assured that the institutions of Montenegro will make every effort to protect the Bosniak population and all Montenegrin citizens, and to foster a sense of security among them instead of fear.

During the conversation, President Đukanović reiterated his commitment to defending the fundamental values and achievements of Montenegro, primarily its stability, multi-ethnicity, European path, and NATO membership.

Chairman Džaferović said that Montenegro's charted course under President Đukanović's leadership has no alternative, and that the future of the countries in our region lies in Euro-Atlantic integration and harmonious inter-ethnic relations within all states of the region.
