Džaferović: There was no talk of sending additional troops as part of the EUFOR military mission

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of BiH Šefik Džaferović, after a meeting with the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of Great Britain for the Western Balkans, Stuart Peach, said that there was no talk of sending additional troops as part of the EUFOR military mission, and that this is the first in a series of meetings Peach will hold.

"What I think, what I said at the meeting, is that in addition to the need to respect the Office of the High Representative and the international military presence without reservation, it is necessary to strengthen the international military presence in BiH. It would be a small effort by the international community for a great cause in BiH," said Džaferović.

Džaferović emphasized that this was an important, significant meeting where the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed. He expressed gratitude to the Government of Great Britain for appointing a special envoy for the Western Balkans who can only help in resolving problems in BiH, or rather in calming the situation.

"What we could hear today was support for the unity and integrity of BiH, reforms, the European and NATO path, the OHR and the High Representative, and the EUFOR military mission," said Džaferović.

He added that any blockade of BiH institutions is unacceptable, as they must not be conditioned by anything or anyone.
