Džaferović and Novalić in Brčko: A City That Is an Example of Coexistence

(Patria) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić visited the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina today together with the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović, who led the delegation. As was pointed out after the meetings, the visit was organized so that the delegation led by Džaferović and Novalić could see the situation in that part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and an unreserved commitment to respecting the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Statute of the Brčko District was emphasized.

During the meeting with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Esed Kadrić and Anto Domić, and the President and Vice President of the Assembly of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Siniša Milić and Ivo Filipović, discussions were held on the current situation, as well as on concrete projects in the area of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fields of road infrastructure, railway electrification, and the gas pipeline. 

According to the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šefik Džaferović, the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a multi-ethnic environment that can serve as an example to all other communities.

- We need to build the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement and what it means, to preserve the achieved level of reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to continue on our European and NATO path, and to carry out economic and overall social reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There is no other way - Džaferović stated.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Novalić reiterated the commitment of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to start working this year on projects for the construction of the Tuzla-Brčko-Orašje expressway, the opening of a conceptual design for the Županja-Orašje-Brčko-Tuzla gas pipeline, and railway electrification. Significant funds have been planned in the budget of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for these projects. The project of the Port of Brčko was also discussed, for whose revitalization there is great interest from the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Today's visit confirms the commitment of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to be more significantly present in the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina with concrete projects that, among other things, ensure better road connectivity and a circular railway connection to the Port of Brčko. Also, we consider the electrification of the railway from Tuzla to Brčko a very important project - emphasized Prime Minister Novalić.

After the meeting, the delegation led by the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šefik Džaferović, walked through the city streets and visited the newly opened offices of the Coordinator of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Brčko, through which more direct cooperation between the institutions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the District in the realization of these projects has been enabled. 

- By opening the office, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina sends a message that it is dedicated to the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens - stated Prime Minister Novalić

The Mayor of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Esed Kadrić, said that they focused on continuing activities on important projects.

- We received support from Mr. Džaferović, and with the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina we went through several important projects to see how far we have come and how far the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has come. In the coming period, we will also have activities with the Government of the Republika Srpska - Kadrić said.
