Džaferović: Dodik voted against the interests of people from RS too

(Patria) - Šefik Džaferović, member of the BiH Presidency, pointed out that Milorad Dodik voted against undisputed agenda items, and that it is clear this is about blocking institutions of BiH.

“The agenda included items from the minutes of appointments, granting agréments to ambassadors, concluding international agreements. One was related to the Armed Forces, a request from local authorities in Istočna Ilidža for assistance with a bridge. If we are to speak in those terms, he also voted against the interests of people living in RS,” Džaferović stated.

Referring to recent statements by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, he stressed that his statement was shameful and insolent, and not a challenge for the EU on how to integrate BiH.

“The real challenge is radical xenophobic racist policies that Orbán advocates. The EU has no future if these policies have influence there. I see the EU as a community built on diversity, human freedoms and rights, and we want to go to such an EU, not the one Orbán advocates,” Džaferović said, as reported by N1.

Orbán uncritically sided with Dodik, Džaferović believes.

“He is a politician who has been advocating Islamophobic views for a long time and builds his politics on that. It will not pass in the EU, and I hope it will stop in Hungary too,” he stated.

Although there are no reactions from the EU to Orbán's statement yet, Džaferović expects them.

“What I know is that there are radical xenophobic policies and politicians in the EU, but they do not have dominant influence in decision-making,” he said.

Regarding Dodik's statement yesterday that members of SIPA must wash themselves before coming to SNSD in Banja Luka so as not to bring the smell of Sarajevo, he said that with it he insulted all people in Sarajevo, all honest and decent people in BiH.

“The statement is in the vein of xenophobia and speaks most about him and not at all about people from Sarajevo. Only human nullities can say that,” he emphasized.
