THE DUO THAT LIES IMAGINATIVELY Will their end be near!?

We lie creatively, imaginatively, inventively," said Dobrica Ćosić, describing the history, present, and, it seems, the future of Serbian politics.

Aleksandar Vučić, the current president of Serbia, has fully adopted the doctrine of Dobrica Ćosić's politics.

Because, Vučić is currently lying creatively, imaginatively, and inventively. He went to Washington with a good geopolitical position, especially after the Montenegrin elections and the victory of the pro-Serbian and pro-Russian political option.

He returned from the American capital disgraced, ridiculed, and most likely rejected by his former partners.

In order to fulfill Donald Trump's pre-election wishes, Vučić agreed to this and that. Among other things, he entangled himself in the Middle Eastern diplomatic mud. Now he is obliged to move the Serbian embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem by July 21.

Numerous European and world diplomacies have resisted this American demand, but Vučić naively fell into the web of great power games. When it comes to domestic policy and its stance on interference, his only luck is that he has destroyed the opposition.

However, alarms have been triggered on the geopolitical chessboard by Moscow, Beijing, Ankara, and even the Arab League countries. They all spoke in unison against the naive Vučić. Some, like the director of the Information Office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, compared Vučić's style of sitting in Washington to scenes from the movie Basic Instinct. And indeed, Vučić looked more pathetic and humiliated than ever.

But the problems he created for himself with Trump's help are yet to come due.

The story of the political Serbian Lazarus from September 4, 2020, is becoming history. Vučić tried, through lies of course, to fix the situation from the USA, but no one serious believed him.

“Vučić brutally rejected Article 10”, screamed regime journalists, sending a message to the public that Vučić is strong and his determination is unquestionable. Earlier, the same ones, under the guise of exclusives, stated that a paper with the recognition of Kosovo was placed before the President of Serbia.

American diplomacy quickly denied it, as did the Kosovo delegation.

And then it emerged what was actually agreed upon. And signed. Vučić, although it was not signed, recognized Kosovo. And this will cause him increasing problems domestically. In foreign policy, China will trouble him because of 5G, Turkey because of Jerusalem, and Russia because of everything at the Washington gathering. Even the Europeans will not let him off the hook for the Washington adventure behind their backs.

Trump is a bad leader, perhaps the worst in the history of the American nation. No president has ever harmed America's foreign image as much as Trump has in these four years. His term is ending, there are no tangible results, so he had to come up with something.

And it is always easier to play with cheap toys. Trump knows that he cannot play with Kosovo, especially before the elections. The American nation would not forgive him for endangering what America helped create.

That's why Vučić was a great opportunity. He likes to be photographed and show off, and he brings along similar mediocrities who like the same.

But Trump, like Vučić, also likes to invent, manipulate, and lie in Ćosić's style. “This is a historic agreement”, the American president blurted out after the meeting and the signing of economic agreements. In fact, nothing historic happened. Similar agreements already existed.

The only notable consequence of Trump's actions on the Kosovo issue is the involvement of two Balkan countries in the Middle Eastern conflict. Neither Kosovo nor Serbia has an interest in moving embassies. True, Israel will recognize Kosovo, but it could lose some serious friends. America is no longer alone on the geopolitical throne, and this will be a problem for Kosovo and Serbia.

The elections are approaching, and I am not sure that Trump has anything to show in foreign policy after this meeting. Things are getting worse for him domestically, and it seems that fate is sending him a sign, especially after the sinking of ships on the lake in Texas that represented a parade of his support.

And it could have been completely different. Trump could have gained a lot of foreign policy points just in the Balkans. Instead of a falsely historic agreement, he had the opportunity to resolve the problems of Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, and BiH in one package. The Balkans is a mini Middle East. This way, he only stirred the pot further, provoking the anger of other great powers.

Vučić was not at the boat parade for Trump, but it seems he has also sunk. Today in Brussels, he will feel the consequences. In the future, they will be much worse.

Because he agreed to the withdrawal of China's 5G network, and the Chinese charge dearly for such things. Politically, if he loses the support of Russia, he will be left exposed. Economic aid from Turkey, which he boasted about so much, could dry up soon due to interference in the Middle Eastern chaos.

When all is said and done, two manipulators and spin doctors, one big, one miniature, tried to sell an illusion, but they scored an own goal. One could be kicked out of the White House. And the other, he has already been consumed by lies, Greater Serbia, and will be finished off by his unsuccessful balancing act between East and West.

Everyone has had enough of them. Both of them.
