Two decades since the death of the legendary commander: Do you know, Drina, how much Zaim loved you

On Friday, October 9, the Association of UDNRP "Zlatni ljiljan" and "Zlatna policijska značka" of Sarajevo Canton is organizing a commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the death of the legendary commander of the 14th Division „Zlatni ljiljan" Zaim Imamović, reports the Patria news agency.

Commander Zaim Imamović is one of the creators of the operations codenamed „Krug", carried out from August 15 to September 18, 1992, in which the city of Goražde and the entire territory of this municipality were liberated, as well as significant parts of the municipalities of Foča and Rogatica. 
 
Imamović was born on April 22, 1961, in the village of Poratak near Ilovača, about fifteen kilometers from Goražde, along the Drina River.

He ended his officer career in the JNA with the rank of captain first class, which he left on April 8, 1992, and immediately joined the Territorial Defense. 
 
He was killed by shrapnel from a grenade on October 9, 1995, two days before the establishment of a permanent ceasefire on the territory of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the rank of major, serving as commander of the 14th Division of the First Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the front line, on the Treskavica battlefield in the area of the Rogoj pass, at the height of Čelina (Trnovo municipality). 
 
The rank of brigadier was awarded to him posthumously, on the day of his funeral. Among his surviving comrades, one can still hear the sentence „: Do you know, Drina, how much Zaim loved you".
