Twenty Days Before Elections: Bosnians and Herzegovinians Offer Votes to Parties for 50 KM in Ads

Local elections are being held in BiH on October 2nd. More than 3.2 million voters will elect local authorities; mayors, municipal heads, and municipal councils, writes Patria.

Some voters have offered their votes on the online classifieds website Olx.ba. They are asking for at least 50 KM for a vote, and some voters think their vote is worth more.

The practice of buying votes was first introduced by the People's Party Work for Betterment, which entered government in 2010. They paid 100 KM for a vote. It is being increasingly rumored that money for votes can also be obtained from HDZ BiH in these elections.

According to data from the Central Election Commission of BiH, 103 political parties, 171 independent candidates, 52 candidates representing national minorities on behalf of 52 groups of citizens, 6 candidates representing national minorities on behalf of 6 citizens' associations, 106 coalitions, and 17 lists of independent candidates will compete for local government, writes Patria.
