Two Days Before Elections, Posters of Martin Raguž and HDZ 1990 Destroyed

In the last two days of the campaign, many cities in BiH have seen destroyed posters of HDZ 1990, plastered with offensive slogans and derogatory terms, and cases of arson have also been recorded, announced from the office of the party president Martin Raguž, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

Pre-election posters of the coalition HDZ 1990 – HSP, as well as posters of their candidate for the Presidency of BiH, Martin Raguž, were also destroyed during the election campaign in September 2010.

- This attack is proof, the statement from HDZ 1990 continues, that we will change things for the better and that paranoia of an imminent defeat has taken hold among the competition.

We will not point fingers at anyone, but we believe that the culprits should be sought among those who are bothered by an employed and European Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 We will not retaliate in kind; we have run a positive campaign and have not made a single move to compromise the competition, and we are proud of that. We will not increase our own value by devaluing others. This act says more about those who committed it.

Such attacks attempt to threaten all those who think differently, and on October 12 we will have the biggest test of public opinion so far and show that the people have the power for BiH citizens to live better.

The statement from HDZ 1990 further states that the destruction of their pre-election posters is proof that their policy is correct and that it has instilled fear in the „bones“ of those who are capable of stooping to the very bottom of human dignity and committing such acts of vandalism.

- It is clear that some are ready to do anything just to come to power. We have drawn a line and in this month we have not once stooped to their level, and we will admit that they are the absolute winners in wrestling in the political mud.

This is our country and we expect our victory on Sunday, on the ground where we have shown superiority with visionary ideas and a concrete economic program and given citizens hope that a European BiH is possible and will happen.

We have shown that we can run a modern campaign with clear and unambiguous messages, European messages, and the electorate has matured and recognized our positive policy, eager for leaders who offer solutions and compromise, not further conflicts.

The fact that Martin Raguž's policy is also supported by citizens from other ethnic groups is commendable, not condemnable. This means that a large number of citizens see him as their president, and achieving such trust in this confrontational political spectrum, we consider a great success.

Therefore, on this occasion, we once again call on all those who have given us uncompromising support during the campaign to turn a blind eye to those for whom destruction is the only policy and on Sunday, without fear, circle those who inspire hope and give a vision of a better tomorrow, the statement from HDZ 1990 further states, as reported by Patria.
