Đurevska: In Ramadan, I pray for the well-being of all of us

Nada Đurevska, a doyen of Bosnian-Herzegovinian acting, tells the BH News Agency Patria that she has experienced the month of Ramadan as a great celebration for 20 years.

- More than twenty years ago, I wasn't aware of the importance of this month, but now I truly feel special in it – says Đurevska. She explains that during Ramadan, she likes to be at home in Sarajevo and feel the intoxicating scent of iftar on the streets of Sarajevo. She tries to spend the Ramadan days in a festive atmosphere.

In all religions of the world, Đurevska says, she sees only the most beautiful thing in them, and that is God. And nothing has ever been able to prevent her from praying to Him and seeking His help. Neither today's era of modernization, nor the communist authorities of that time.

For a sincere believer, she says, nothing can stand in the way between them and God.

- I was a member of the Communist Party. But, even today, I don't know who enrolled me in the party or how. Perhaps no one wanted to, so they put me in, as an actress – says Đurevska with a laugh.

- But, I continued to go to church. One day, an acquaintance saw me entering a church and immediately called my husband and told him that he thought "Nada is going to church". It was so funny. Of course, I continued to pray to God – Đurevska recalled, writes the Patria agency.

The popular BH actress is currently working on filming HRT's film "Imena višnje", directed by Branko Schmidt, and based on the screenplay by writer Josip Mlakić.
