Duraković: Srebrenica is the only link where RS authorities cannot do as they please

A meeting of the five party leaders SDA, SBB, DF, SDP BiH and SBiH and Ćamil Duraković, Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality, was held at the Holiday Hotel. Duraković was the only one to give a statement after the meeting, stating that the meeting was convened with the leaders of the parties supporting his candidacy and that he received full support for the upcoming elections on October 2nd, Patria reports.

- I received personal support and good luck again, the math is more favorable compared to 2012, now we have one opposing candidate and the political battle is 1 on 1, said Duraković, adding that out of 7,300 Serb voters, about 4,000 come from Serbia.

- We also talked about the referendum, I told them how it went in Srebrenica, there were no incidents and we have to see how long they will mock us with these results and inflated referendum turnouts. It is known that the turnout in Srebrenica was 15 percent, and they claim 35. More or less, it means nothing, nothing spectacular happened today, nor will it happen in terms of the Constitutional Court's decision. That's it, just an expense. Every initiative launched by members of one nation creates fear in another. This week, there is a greater fear that the policies that conduct referendums will politically take over Srebrenica and thus complete that political story about the RS, and I fear that the country's future in the next ten years will be changed because Srebrenica is the only link in the RS where they cannot do as they please - said Duraković.

He pointed out that the referendum in Srebrenica was not conducted legally, but extra-institutionally in some barracks.

- I fear that if we lose Srebrenica, it will no longer be part of the political force we currently have - said Duraković.
