Duraković summoned for talks in SDA: I am not giving up on my request

The mayor of Srebrenica, Ćamil Duraković, was summoned today for talks at the SDA headquarters in Sarajevo regarding recent events in this town, reports the Patria news agency.

Duraković was invited by the SDA Secretary General Amir Zukić, with whom he will discuss his resignation.

-My only request is that the disputed decision to dismiss the director of the Health Center in Srebrenica be withdrawn. Everything else is demanded by the people themselves, Duraković briefly told Patria.

For the record, councilors of the SNSD, joined by councilors of the SDA, Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the SDP, voted last week to dismiss the director of the Health Center, despite having no arguments or valid reason for doing so.

Duraković then submitted his resignation on September 24, stating that the SNSD and SDA had joined forces to remove him as mayor, and that the director of the Health Center had been good for three years, but now apparently is not good because he refuses to fulfill someone's private wishes.

Duraković has been supported by both Serbs and Bosniaks from Srebrenica, who organized demonstrations on Monday, September 28, in support of the mayor.
