Duraković: Out of 3,000 Bosniaks on the voter list, 166 voted

(Patria) - Ćamil Duraković from the "My Address Srebrenica" Initiative addressed the public after pro-Bosniak political forces decided to boycott the repeated local elections in Srebrenica because, as they stated, they are not being held in a fair and democratic atmosphere.

"To summarize... To the skeptics who doubted and tried to devalue our unity and firm decision to boycott today's irregular elections, I want to announce that, according to our information, out of 3,000 Bosniaks on the voter list in Srebrenica, 166 voted. Without going into how and for whom these 166 Bosniaks voted today, it is not enough for even one councilor mandate," stated Duraković.

"If we exclude blackmail, threats, payments to the socially vulnerable, I can proudly say – we have preserved our dignity. We did not threaten, pay, or blackmail anyone. I am proud that my people today chose dignity over fear, interest, and injustice. Our fight is not easy, but we will surely continue it. We are awaiting the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH after which we will know what and how to proceed. Thank you and I am proud..." Duraković conveyed.
