Duraković: It's not the same if 500,000 Arabs move to Germany or 500 to FBiH

Thousands of hectares of land are being sold to Arabs in FBiH. We don't know who is coming with them, what disruptive factors are coming - stated academic Esad Duraković in the show Pressing on N1 TV.

- If our state does not take appropriate measures, what has happened so far is a prelude. More serious lobbies have warned me not to talk about it, calling me an anti-Semite. The public is being sold this as if it were investments. My grandchildren will be their porters, because we are selling them the most valuable resources we have - added Duraković.

When asked if the Arabs' desire is to live where there is water and land or if it is a project, Duraković said he thinks it is a project.

- I conclude this by observing how things are unfolding. An international project to create a "Muslimania" in FBiH, to radicalize Muslims in order to get an argument for sanctions. Bosnian Muslims are traditionally exemplary people, cosmopolitans. Wahhabis and Muslims are conflicting groups with each other - said Duraković.

- All phenomena should be viewed in context to see all effects. It's not the same if 500,000 move to Germany or 500 to FBiH. We Bosniaks have historically been marked as a nuisance, as a potential danger. Now this burden is increasing, and the possibilities of us being identified as a dangerous factor are increasing - said Duraković.

Why and how did Dodik announce four years ago that 500,000 Arabs would come to BiH?

- He knows, he probably has access to information that I don't. There is no doubt that this is a project. Our politicians and our legislation do not see this as a problem, that we cannot sell the ground beneath our feet. Money is being laundered here, there is a lot of crime, and it is not done on the basis of reciprocity. Everywhere in the world, if you sell land to someone, you have the right to buy land from them. And that is not the case here. Now our politicians say "they are our Muslim brothers." I feel like a Bosnian, a Bosniak, a Muslim, and I care about the future of my country.

When asked how he commented on Milorad Dodik recently telling Bakir Izetbegović that he is a Serb who is afraid of his origins, Duraković said it was nonsense.

- This is pure nonsense that only Dodik can come up with. What was here before the Serbs? There were Slavs, pagans. With that logic, we will reach Adam, the first man on earth - said Duraković.

When asked how he perceived Donald Trump's messages saying he would ban Muslims from coming to America, Duraković said he wrote about it in his new book.

- We can state with great regret that the world is entering a clash of cultures. In Europe, one of the main problems is refugees who are Muslims and the burqa. I fear that Trump's threats should be taken seriously. In America, there is a very strong religious group called Evangelicals. Their pastor speaks twice a day on 75 radio stations and 125 TV stations in the USA and Canada about how Islam is the greatest scourge of the world and that it should be eradicated. All Republicans are influenced by the evangelical sect. He doesn't just talk like that. Behind Trump stands a powerful organization pushing America against Islam - says Duraković.

How much are Muslims themselves to blame for this situation in the world?

- Muslims are no longer a subject on the world stage. Muslims have taken the Quran out of context, they only verbalize it. They do not interpret it properly. The space has been left to radical Muslims, and they judge people's beliefs. Militant groups falsify Islam. For every action, there is a reaction. Muslims must return to their core text - believes Duraković.

Will there be new wars in the Middle East?

- I don't know where they are not already at war there. Iran remains the only country outside of wars, although it sends its armies to Syria. I fear that Turkey is in great danger. Further escalation can be expected because the West today is not ruled by Trump or Obama, but by powerful corporations whose sole goal is profit.

Is there optimism for the future of BiH?

- Only God knows the future, but we can speculate based on some indications. I hope that positive changes will occur because major powers from the East, such as China and India, are emerging. Then those who disturb us might leave us alone. I don't understand how we can all be destructive in a country that is so beautiful. When the warrior elites and parties pass and die out, younger people will realize that we are all better off if we help each other and cooperate.
