(Patria) - Academician Esad Duraković was the introductory speaker at today's session of Krug 99 on the topic "Zionist Massacre in Gaza or Nakba the Second".
We present his address in full:
The massacre that these days, in full view of the entire world, is being perpetrated against Gaza, the most densely populated area in the world, an open prison where about 5,000 children have been killed in recent days, or half of the total population killed – this horrific massacre has already been called genocide by some of the highest UN officials. Meanwhile, others call it "Israel's legitimate right to self-defence," thus supporting the round-the-clock and indiscriminate bombing of the completely isolated Gaza enclave, where 50% of those killed are children, where hospitals and schools are being destroyed, etc. So, powerful international political entities, namely the governments of Great Britain, the USA and the EU, are legalising, even encouraging the systematic killing of thousands of civilians and children, i.e., encouraging what even high-ranking UN officials have called genocide.
Reality proves that history is the teacher of life, but not in the sense that humanity learns how crimes must not be repeated, but quite the opposite – humanity learns from history how each subsequent new genocide can be even greater and more brutal. Today we witness the most brutal terror of a powerful state against nearly two and a half million civilians. Whoever can systematically drop bombs on residential areas day and night, knowing full well that they will kill many children, has nothing, absolutely nothing human in them. But even that is not the worst, because worse than the one who drops bombs on children is the one who watches but does not stop him, instead unconditionally supporting him. Those are the governments of Great Britain, the USA and the governments of most EU countries.
Therefore, after today's Gaza (and not long before that, Bosnia), the governments of those countries have no right to call themselves either humane or civilised. Their civilisation ends today in Gaza. A part of their citizens is warning them of this through protests. Accordingly, I suggest to the media not to call the massacre I am talking about a war in Gaza, because that phrase implies neutrality, equating "two sides," and there one of the most powerful armies in the world has attacked with all its might more than two million besieged civilians! There is a significant difference between them that the term war in Gaza conceals.
An equal sign cannot be drawn between Judaism and Zionism. Israel is a Zionist construct that, with Mephistophelean methods and persistence, leads our entire world towards the abyss, the Palestinian people to unspeakable suffering and extermination, but there are many Jews, even rabbis, who most sharply condemn the policy of Zionism. The truth is that most Zionists are not Jews but British and American fundamentalist evangelists who, due to their enormous media power, are also called televangelists. Only in the USA there are about 50 million of them and they keep the US Congress under control. They traditionally control the Republican Party, they publicly speak and act as if "the interest of dear Israel" is more important even than the interests of the USA themselves. The terrible perspective lies in the fact that the ultimate goal of fundamentalist evangelists is to provoke Armageddon in the Middle East because that is – according to the prophecy they believe in as dogma – a condition for the appearance of the Messiah.
In that context, the statement of the newly elected Speaker of the US House of Representatives, evangelist Mike Johnson, sounds ominous and like a declaration of religious war:
"This special bond that Israel and the USA have, of course, transcends politics and diplomacy (...) As a Christian, I know and believe that the Bible very clearly teaches that we should stand with Israel, that God will bless the nation that blesses Israel."
From that standpoint of great power, for evangelists, the pogrom, the destruction of Palestine is God's command," stated Duraković.
Answering journalists' questions, Academician Duraković, who is also a member of three Arab academies of sciences, said that the similarity between BiH and Gaza lies in the fact that BiH was also abandoned by the West during the four-year siege.
"After this in Gaza, there is no right to call oneself civilised and humane. An embargo was imposed on BiH when all three neighbours attacked it. Who imposed it? Those who could have helped us did not do so. The world had abandoned us too. At the core lies some kind of Islamophobia both in Gaza and in relation to Palestine," said Duraković.
If the USA and Iran were to come into conflict, the world will end in a cataclysm, Duraković believes.
