Dunović with Moore: Resolving the issue of two schools under one roof

FBiH Vice President Milan Dunović visited the Head of the OSCE Mission in BiH, Jonathan Moore, with whom he discussed the state of education in FBiH and future cooperation on joint projects, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Vice President Dunović emphasized, in his conversation with the Head of the OSCE Mission in BiH, that he plans to implement an activity this year that will be reflected in the improvement of education in the Federation of BiH, particularly focusing on the issue of "two schools under one roof".

Given that education is one of the priorities of the OSCE Mission's activities in BiH, Vice President Dunović proposed joint cooperation in resolving some of the most pressing issues in the field of education in BiH, such as "two schools under one roof". Appreciating the OSCE's efforts so far to point out the need to find a lasting solution to the issue of "two schools under one roof" as soon as possible, Vice President Dunović agreed that this issue needs to be resolved as soon as possible.

- Unfortunately, the Federal Ministry of Education and Science does not have direct jurisdiction over the education system, but I believe that we can all do something to unite and improve the entire education system. Not only are these schools unconstitutional, they are not good for future generations who, by this way of functioning of the education system, are taught disunity from an early age. This way, segregation and division on any basis among children is carried out - emphasized the Vice President of FBiH Milan Dunović.

The Head of the OSCE Mission in BiH, Ambassador Jonathan Moore, said that he is ready for joint cooperation in order to find long-term solutions, because children are the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina and everyone should make efforts to ensure prosperity for all children in BiH. He emphasized that as part of his activities, in the past period, he visited some municipalities and local communities in FBiH with his associates where there are "two schools under one roof" and stated that there are positive developments on this issue in BiH, and positive examples that show that local communities are doing good things when it comes to building trust and coexistence.

Such an example, among others, is the local community of Bočinja, which Ambassador visited with his colleagues, ambassadors, and representatives of the international community at the end of last year.

- We wanted to draw the attention of both the public and the international community to some successful examples and stories that exist throughout BiH. We wanted to show that people from these areas, in this case children, can function in community regardless of religion and nationality - emphasized Ambassador Moore.

Vice President Dunović and Ambassador Moore also agreed on future cooperation, which will be reflected in organizing visits for children to cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, and they will also focus on raising awareness about the problem of "white plague", i.e., the declining birth rate in our country.
