Dunović: DF finds unacceptable the draft law under which Dodik would be tried at the municipal court in Laktaši

(Patria) - We see that within the majority (SNSD - Trojka - HDZ) there is a disagreement regarding the seat of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, there is another important disagreement, and that is the one on which the Democratic Front will insist, and that is jurisdiction - said DF representative in the state parliament Milan Dunović on the show Špica on Sarajevo Television.

- In the public space, there are different opinions about the Law on Courts, especially when it comes to the parties of the parliamentary majority, while opposition parties have individually articulated their positions, said Dunović.

We see that within the majority (SNSD - Trojka - HDZ) there is a disagreement regarding the seat of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, there is another important disagreement, and that is the one on which the Democratic Front will insist, and that is jurisdiction, Dunović emphasizes.

"There are intentions of politicians from the RS for the court's jurisdiction to be such that for a criminal offense committed by a resident of one entity on the territory of that entity, the state court is not competent. That is unacceptable for us in DF," he said.

This is something that the Venice Commission commented on, stating that in the draft law, the court's jurisdiction is questionable because such things cannot be done.

"If such a law were adopted, in practice it would mean that Milorad Dodik could not be held accountable before the Court of BiH in the current case, but would be tried at some municipal court in Laktaši," said Dunović.

These are things that do not lead us towards the EU, which will not accept this. The Venice Commission was very clear, just as it was clear regarding the Law on the HJPC. With such a way of working, we will not continue the EU path, which is not making progress anyway.
