Đukanović: Serbian Orthodox Church is the vanguard of Greater Serbian nationalism

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Serbian Orthodox Church is the vanguard of Greater Serbian nationalism and Russian imperial interests in the Balkans, said the President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović tonight on N1 television's Pressing.

He said that he accepts the will of the citizens and will not obstruct the formation of a new government.

''There were announcements from the political opposition that the current government would engage in some post-election political engineering. From the first statement on election day, after the first results arrived, I announced that we accept the will of the citizens and that we will not obstruct the formation of a new government,'' he said, adding that he received his last mandate as party president at the end of last year and that, following the election results, an extraordinary party congress will be held to discuss all issues, including personnel changes.

How does he intend to defend Montenegro when the new majority will take over all levers of power in Montenegro?

''I have already explained this dilemma that has appeared in a part of the public. I said that we accept the election results, that we will not obstruct or slow down the process, and that this is the best response from the DPS and the current ruling coalition towards the interests of Montenegro,'' explained the N1 guest.

According to him, they will work for the interests of the state at all costs.

''We are working in the interest of Montenegro at all costs, and by accepting the election results, we have primarily taken into account Montenegro's international reputation,'' he emphasized.
