Đukanović showed strength in local elections, opponents still celebrate

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) won 14 seats in Cetinje, two less than in the previous elections, and will have to seek coalition partners to form a government.

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) won eight council seats, the Civic Movement URA four, Democrats and the Old Guard of the Liberal Alliance three each, Social Democrats (SD) - Liberal Party (LP) one mandate, while the Socialist People's Party (SNP) and the list Ecological Principality Old Montenegro remained without mandates. The SNP also failed to win a mandate in the previous local elections.

Although the DPS won, the government can be formed without them, but the SDP, which saw the biggest growth, has the most say. The traditional partners of the DPS have two mandates, so the opposition hopes to take power.

The DPS will remain in power in Petnjica, where, according to preliminary results, it won 17 mandates, Bosniak six, SPP three, Democrats and Social Democrats two mandates, Social Democratic Party one, and the Socialist People's Party won no mandates.

In Mojkovac yesterday, the opposition celebrated because the DPS did not win an absolute majority. They are convinced they will form a new government.
