Đukanović: DPS must reform and regain citizens' trust

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - DPS President Milo Đukanović stated that the party's task is to carry out serious reforms if it wants to regain citizens' trust, it was announced from DPS Plav.

At the 9th Municipal Electoral Conference of the party in Plav, Đukanović, among other things, emphasized the importance of preserving the concept of Montenegro as a civic state, stressing that the multi-ethnic composition of Montenegrin society leaves no room for serious political entities to consider alternatives at all.

DPS Vice-President Abaz Dizdarević thanked all those who, as he said, fought wisely and loyally for the overall contribution to the party's development in the past and expressed his belief that the newly elected Municipal Committee in Plav will respond to the challenges facing Montenegro with new energy and enthusiasm.

“Montenegro is going through perhaps the hardest trials in its recent history, and this time requires a responsible attitude. DPS, as a state-building party that has overcome numerous challenges in the past, has the task today to preserve all the values that were hard-won, concerning the preservation of the greatest civilizational achievements, which are multiculturalism, inter-ethnic and inter-religious harmony, the civic concept of society, and peace in these areas. Undermining these achievements is what the current government has been doing for the past year, thus imposing on us the challenge to fight again for centuries-old values,” Dizdarević conveyed.

The President of the DPS Municipal Committee Plav, Eldana Canović Čekić, characterized the current political situation and the people leading the country as a crisis of humanity, a festival of stupidity, and the revenge of thirty-year repeaters.

“We do not want to be led by those who do not know how to do their job, and DPS has proven that, together with its traditional partners, it can and knows the right way. Our goal is to get back on the right track and to direct our country towards European values,” said Canović Čekić.
