Long queues in the south of the country: Kilometer-long lines due to accident on the Buna-Žitomislići road

Due to a traffic accident on the M-17 Buna-Žitomislići main road, traffic is moving slowly, with one lane open until the police investigation is completed. Due to increased vehicle frequency, long queues of vehicles are forming,
so we ask drivers for patience and understanding.

One person was seriously injured in this accident, and firefighters have extracted the body of a male person showing signs of life, who will be urgently transported to Mostar.

According to information gathered from the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, vehicle traffic is increased in the south of our country. At the Doljani border crossing on the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina, waiting times are up to two hours, and at the Velika Kladuša, Kamensko, and Prisika border crossings, waiting times range from 40 minutes to 1 hour. At other border crossings in the south of our country, delays are from 20 to 30 minutes. We remind drivers that the Gabela Polje border crossing is temporarily open as an international border crossing (until 01.10.).

On the Velika Kladuša-Bihać main road in the Donji Purići area, due to mine clearance operations from 08:00 to 16:00, there will be half-hour traffic stoppages, with 15-minute vehicle releases.*

The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued a red warning for the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina due to high daily air temperatures, so we at BIHAMK also appeal to drivers to avoid long-distance driving during the day, and if they do travel, we recommend taking frequent breaks. We especially draw attention to all those using air conditioning in their vehicles to turn off the air conditioning a few minutes before the end of the trip to prepare for exiting the vehicle.
