State deputies filed a request for the assessment of the constitutionality of the curriculum in RS

(Patria) - Thirteen deputies from SDA, DF, and NES in the BiH Parliament signed a request to the Constitutional Court of BiH for the assessment of the constitutionality of the Rulebook on Primary Education and Upbringing, adopted by the Minister of Education of RS, and its annexes, concerning the teaching of history in the ninth grades of primary schools in the RS entity.

The request was submitted to the protocol of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as confirmed today to journalists in Sarajevo by the Chairman of the SDA Deputies' Club in the BiH Parliament, Šerif Špago, reports Faktor.ba.

Along with the request for constitutionality assessment, a request for the adoption of a temporary measure to prohibit the implementation of the Rulebook, or its annexes, until a decision is made by the Constitutional Court of BiH was also submitted.

- A session of the Constitutional Court of BiH is planned for September 19. We hope that they will adopt a temporary measure then and prohibit the implementation of the Rulebook - stated Špago.

According to him, the SDA team, led by lawyer Dževad Mahmutović, worked on the appeal.

- We have filed several appeals to the Constitutional Court in these two years, including one regarding the land on Jahorina - which was accepted, and we expect the Constitutional Court to make a positive decision and annul the Rulebook that allows children in the ninth grades to learn that war criminals Ratko Mladić and Radovan Karadžić are individuals they should remember and learn about.

War criminals cannot be candidates for certain job positions, nor can they be on election lists, yet the RS entity, the Government, and their minister are adopting a Rulebook that defines learning about war criminals as if they were positive figures in history.

And worst of all, they are forcing children of non-Serb nationality to learn about Mladić, Karadžić, and other criminals as positive figures - added Špago.
