Civil Servants to Protest on November 27: First Will Be Peaceful, Then Probably No One Will Be Well Off in BiH

(Patria) - The Civil Servants' Union has announced a protest for November 27 starting at 12:05 in front of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Radenko Mirković, a representative of the Union, said they have no expectations. He reiterated 4 demands.

"Adoption of the budget for 2025, adoption of the budget for 2026, one-time financial assistance, and application of the base from January 1 for the 26th budget of 2026. Only if the budget were adopted today and on Thursday in the House of Peoples the budget is adopted and the law that passed in the parliamentary procedure is adopted to apply the base from January 1, 2026, if these three conditions are met, we will cancel the protest. But as we see the current situation, we are going to the protests and I have just gone to the police station to report the gathering, where we have initiated all procedures regarding the announcement for using the parking space in front of the parliament, notification of emergency services, civil protection, and the competent Ministry of Interior," said Mirković.

He added that they have invited all employees in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina who are union members and those who are not.

"If people come out, it means they are dissatisfied. If people do not come to the protests, if there is a small number of people, then simply everyone is satisfied with their salaries and we do not know why we as unions always exist. The protests last one hour, they will be peaceful, democratic. Although I asked for more radical measures, but here, let the first protest be peaceful, democratic. And after that, more radical measures will follow, where probably no one will be well off in Bosnia and Herzegovina. And we will only truly feel sorry for the citizens, who will experience that on their backs," warned Mirković.

In the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, a debate is underway on the urgent procedure for the Proposal of the Law on the Budget of BiH Institutions and International Obligations for 2025.
