State MPs Visit Migrant Centers in Krajina

(Patria) - A delegation of MPs from the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, gathered around the Club for European Integration and Security Issues of the PA BiH, is on a two-day visit to the Una-Sana Canton (USC) with the aim of getting acquainted in detail with the situation regarding the migrant crisis. The delegation consists of Šemsudin Mehmedović, Lazar Prodanović, Edita Đapo, Aida Baručija, Branislav Borenović, and Jasmin Emrić.

During their stay in the USC, the MPs and delegates of the PA BiH visited four reception migrant centers: Bira and Borići in Bihać, Sedra in Cazin, and Miral in Velika Kladuša.

The purpose of this visit is to assess the situation in the USC, which is most affected by the current migrant crisis, and to gather information through discussions with local authorities regarding the problems the USC is facing in managing the migrant crisis.

Today, the delegation of the Club for European Integration and Security Issues of the PA BiH will hold a meeting with the Prime Minister of the USC, Mustafa Ružnić, and members of the Operational Group for Coordination and Monitoring of the Migrant Crisis in the USC, as well as with the Mayor of Bihać, Šuhret Fazlić, and the President of the City Council, Davor Župa. During this meeting, an Action Plan for the relocation of the temporary centers Bira in Bihać and Miral in Velika Kladuša will be presented to the MPs and delegates.

As announced, after the visit to the USC, the members of the Club for European Integration and Security Issues of the PA BiH will take measures to activate the mechanisms available to the competent state institutions and undertake activities to mitigate the effects of the migrant crisis that is currently most affecting the USC.
