SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Today's session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina will again consider a proposal by MP Damir Arnaut to limit severance pay for retirement for parliamentarians, ministers and members of the Presidency of BiH to 10,000 KM, as it was not adopted at the previous session of the House of Representatives of the PA BiH because it did not receive support from any representative from the Republika Srpska in the BiH Parliament.
The proposal to reduce the maximum severance pay from 35,000 to 10,000 KM failed because 20 MPs voted against, while 15 were in favor, with 4 abstentions. The proposer, Damir Arnaut, stated in the explanation that some MPs said they mistakenly voted against, so he is now proposing the same law again.
Several agenda items relate to the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, specifically initiatives by MPs to set a deadline for disciplinary proceedings of no more than six months, and to extend conflict of interest rules for holders of judicial functions to their close relatives.
