State Ministers to Discuss Amendments to the Law on HJPC BiH Today

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of BiH will consider the new text of the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of BiH at today's session in Sarajevo, scheduled to begin at 2 PM.

Following the last session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, the Minister of Justice of BiH, Davor Bunoza, told reporters that the Ministry of Justice has been proposing amendments to the Law on HJPC for the third session, aiming to extend the deadline for the formation of a department that would verify the assets of judges and prosecutors.

- We also proposed that all persons appointed in the meantime can take office until the department is formed, and to this day, I have not been explained, although I requested clarification, why there is no support for this law for the third time.

Representatives from Republika Srpska proposed to postpone it, and I hope we will resolve that issue soon as well - Bunoza said at the time.

The Council of Ministers of BiH will also consider the Information on the implementation of 14 key priorities from the European Commission's opinion on BiH's application for EU membership today, proposed by the Directorate for European Integration of BiH.

The agenda also includes the Proposal of the Report on the Work of the Council of Ministers of BiH for 2023, proposed by the cabinet of the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH.

Also on the proposed agenda is the Information on the realization of the Central European Exchange Program for University Studies in BiH in 2023.

In the second round of voting, ministers are expected to vote on the Strategic Framework for Justice Sector Reform in BiH for the period 2023-2027.
