State, entity, and cantonal officials informed about preparations for organizing 'EYOF 2019'

The highest state, entity, and cantonal officials expressed satisfaction with the final preparations for the organization of the European Youth Olympic Festival "EYOF 2019" which will be held in Sarajevo and East Sarajevo from February 9 to 16 this year.

The Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, hosted a reception today for representatives of institutions that are an integral part of the state project, and informed them about the plans for the Opening Ceremony at the Olympic Stadium "Asim Ferhatović Hase".

The reception was attended by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdić, the Minister of Culture and Sports in the Government of FBiH, Zora Dujmović, Dragan Jaćimović, Assistant Minister of Family, Youth and Sports of the Government of RS, and Haris Bašić, Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton.

Also, the meeting was attended by the Vice-President of the Olympic Committee of BiH, Izet Rađo, the Chairman of the City Council of the City of Sarajevo, Igor Gavrić, the Mayor of East Sarajevo, Nenad Vuković, the President of the Assembly of that city, Miroslav Lučić, and the Director of JP EYOF d.o.o., Senahid Godinjak. 

The Mayor thanked the institutions and individuals for their support and partnership in organizing the largest sports competition in BiH since the Sarajevo Olympics 35 years ago.

- EYOF is a state project in its essence and character, but it has also practically shown that we can all gather around a common interest and a project that is focused on youth and the future - said Mayor Skaka.

According to him, everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina will benefit from holding such a high-level sports event.

"EYOF 2019" will bring together more than a thousand competitors, nearly 750 delegation members from 46 European countries, more than 150 accredited journalistic teams, and thousands of volunteers from all over the country in Sarajevo and East Sarajevo from February 9 to 16.
