2,198 citizens renounced BiH citizenship in the past year

(Patria) Only in the past year, 2,198 citizens renounced the citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while at the same time 12 individuals were granted citizenship.

These include persons "of special benefit to BiH", as stated in the regulations.

This data was submitted a few days ago by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a response to a parliamentary question.

Among other things, it was also stated that from January 1, 1996, until now, i.e., over 28 years, 99,168 people have renounced the citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

However, the Ministry could not answer from which cities and municipalities the former BiH citizens originated.
