The state is deaf to the needs of blind people

According to estimates, there are about five thousand blind people in BiH, but there are no precise data, nor on the number of employed. Their position in BiH society is marginalized, and there are no clear strategies for improving the quality of life, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

One of the few places where everything is tailored to blind people is the Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired of BiH, where recorded books, mostly read by BiH actors and actresses, can be read or listened to.

The library currently has 22,760 library units in formats for blind and visually impaired people, used by 1,189 blind people from BiH. Today, World Blind Day will be marked by the promotion of Nenad Veličković's book "Vitez švedskog stola" (King of the Buffet), which he recorded on a CD in MP3 format for the needs of blind users.
