'A state that de facto does not exist': Dodik inadvertently describes his own entity!

(Patria) - When Milorad Dodik says that a "state that de facto does not exist cannot be recognized", referring to Palestine and expressing support for Israel, he unknowingly provides the most accurate and complete definition of Republika Srpska, the entity he leads, but which he persistently tries to present as a state.

- That is why I strongly support the clear and rational stance of Israel and a large part of the international community – that decadelong conflicts are not resolved by unilateral political gestures, but rather new problems are created - Dodik stated on social network X.

This statement is not just political, it is diagnostic. And, most of all, for himself.

Because if the criteria for state recognition include territorial coherence, international subjectivity, sovereignty over borders, army, currency, foreign policy, and the capacity to communicate independently with the world, then Republika Srpska is not a state. And it cannot be. De facto, nor de jure.

But Dodik does not shy away from stating that RS is a "state", that it has "its own institutions", that it will "leave BiH". And then, at the same time, he denies the right of existence to others based on the fact that they "de facto do not exist as a state".

This is that double standard that shows all the contradictions of political action in BiH, where statehood is denied to entities and peoples who seek it through legitimate struggle, but false statehood is imposed on an administrative unit within an internationally recognized state.

With this sentence, Dodik admitted more than he would probably ever want: that RS is not a state, that it cannot be recognized as a state, because it "de facto does not exist" as such.

This is a brutal truth, which does not need to be proven by political declarations, but is found in the very foundations of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Dayton Agreement, and international law.

And perhaps it is time for Dodik to be listened to because, for once, he has described reality quite accurately. But, his and RS's reality, certainly not Palestine's, which is a state!
