Renowned BiH actor Emir Hadžihafizbegović has written an open letter in which he poured out his heart. The Novinska agencija Patria (News Agency Patria) is publishing this letter, which appeared on social media, in its entirety, without any corrections.
Bosniak Džemaludin Latić a fascist, Bosniak Mušan Topalović a war criminal, Bosniak political party SDA responsible for the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the massacre of its own people, Bosniak ulema fighting for money, Bosniak ministers stealing, Bosniak generals criminals in Krajina, Bosniaks wiped out three thousand Serbs in Sarajevo, Bosniak companies are smugglers, Bosniak Army slaughtered in Grabovica, Bosniaks in the federal MUP are incompetent, children from mixed marriages are undesirable in the Bosniak army, Bosniaks are majoritizing Croats in Travnik and Vareš, Bosniak primitivism filled Skenderija enjoying Jusuf Islam, Bosniaks raise their hands for Velibor Ostojić, Bosniak women wrapped like specters wander through Tito's. Well, let them, Bosniaks, let them trample the flag when you are such a monstrous people.
We don't pretend when we love
So, that's how "vacuumed" Bosniak individuals write about you. About you who have been expelled, slaughtered, humiliated, about you who carried a dead child in your arms and who asked to have coffee with the killer to ask him the reasons for shooting your daughter in the skull, about you who were crucified between two jeeps in Batkovići, about you who liberated Vlašić and crossed the Una river barefoot, about you who took care of Pejanović better than your own mother, about you who loves ilahija and whose mother was raped, about you whose grandparents are buried in the cemetery for "auslanders" overlooking the Sydney Opera House, about you who worships and celebrates Eid in Oslo and Stockholm, about you who doesn't pretend when you say you love Jovo Divjak, Dragan Vikić, and Nenad Marković, about you who have climbed to the top of the civilizational pyramid with your dignity.
You, you have such leaders that you should be ashamed of. And defeatism is your defining category, and if, by chance, you had not defended and preserved your homeland, none of the ugly words written at the beginning of this text about you would ever have been said.
That's why, Bosniak, because you are like that, because it wasn't according to someone's wishes, because the creator of the "Islamic Declaration" led you into the most glorious epic of national self-identity, because he crossed out someone's geopolitical matrix according to which you, Bosniak, are a cosmetic error and a foreign body on the Athens-Vienna transit route, because you bring Pavarotti, La Scala, Kasparov, and Bono Vox to your small country, and because you are actually a good people, and someone's concepts do not tolerate good people, they do not tolerate those who share a pan of potato pie with the entire building and who, out of their poverty, somewhere on the Tuzla-Teočak road, prepare coffee and bring hurmašice to the Swedish television crew. That's why, because you are good, not wicked, because you don't fit into someone's image of Islam and because they can't make you into a new Algeria, you must be punished. If not in war, you will be defeated in peace.
For this purpose, they will do the following:
First: Euphemize the story of aggression, diverting it to the track of inter-ethnic conflicts.
Second: Mitigate the four-year orgies of barbarians on Bosniak skin with commissioned texts about Kazani and Grabovica.
Third: Activate Pejanović, who has finally been driven out of hiding and whose grotesque message about how he will personally return the bloody bishop Kačavenda to Tuzla, which the Bosniaks have easily overlooked, only confirms the thesis about Serbs on assignment, etc.
All of the above, my dear Bosniak, clearly shows that it is high time for you to take your destiny into your own hands, even in peacetime.
Your political heterogeneity and national atmosphere now, quite certainly, threaten to lead you into collective masochism. Because to be so unarguably slandered for the last hundred days, to be so devalued and humiliated again after the war, and not to react means to be a Bosniak idiot, and since I have been waiting for a long time for my Government, my party, my wartime commanders, my scattered refugees, my parliamentary representatives, my ministers to react instead of me, and they are not doing so, I had to protect myself and my Bosniak family with this letter.
Infidels and domestic traitors
My father, my late mother, my brother, my wife, my two children, and I are not Bosniaks from the story of world-renowned infidels and domestic traitors. Silence as a turning point of the Bosniak intellectual and his mental framework tears me apart more than any lie written about us. You, Bosniak intelligentsia! I call upon you. You, who hide behind some kind of quasi-patience, the theory of not rocking the boat, false principledness, and the already worn-out mercy that is characteristic only of you, are truly starting to disgust me. F*** your book promotions, round tables, and established parlor chatter about the endangerment of the Bosniak being. Overcome your hundred-year-old fears and stand before this people! Stand behind the most honest souls in the world and help them. That is your duty, and if something bad happens to this people again, you will be greater culprits than Milošević and Tuđman combined.
The signatory of these lines is deeply aware of the hypocrisy of morality that has affected and is destroying a part of the Bosniak fabric, aware of the neighborhood syndrome of a part of the Bosniak government, the ultimate consequences of which are spiritual nothingness. I know well how some Bosniak ministers are corrupt and how there are certain sycophants in the SDA party who compromise the idea of Bosnia. But all of that is not a reason for us to be fed a cuckoo's egg and to equate the crime, unknown to modern civilization, with the, admittedly obvious shortcomings in the coordination of a part of the military leadership and superior units in the Army of BiH. That fraudulent game of Balkan poker, where they want to make us equally responsible for the war as our enemies, could pass if we Bosniaks, the cattle, remain silent again.
We are a people who have lived under blackmail for years. Six years of claustrophobia have traumatized us to the point where inferiority and compromise have become our constants, our states. Let's finally confront the centuries-old devil that circles our metabolism. The fear of our own opinion. Let's break the genetic codes of irrational panic within us, what will others say about what we say. Our fate to be born as Bosniaks in these paranoid environments is a valid reason for us to be strong and courageous, not to allow a politician to lecture us about the dubious wartime role of the capital city after hell and two hundred thousand dead brothers and sisters.
I can no longer remain silent!
Others do as they please, but I can no longer remain silent. I want to think and I want to say what I think. I think Pejanović has lost the trust he had earned. I think Mušan Topalović was a hero of this people from the beginning of the aggression and that in an unaccountable state he did some things he shouldn't have and which cost him his life. I think it is not advisable or good to hate people like Marko Vešović, but also that Džemaludin Latić is one of the most significant Bosniaks born in the last fifty years. I think that Slaviša Šućur, Miro Lazović, Mladen Vojičić Tifa, Predrag Paja Pašić, Perica Simonović, Mišo Božić (president of SGV Tuzla) are parameters of Serbian integrity. I think that my president Alija Izetbegović is the most moral man on the planet, but also that he should not have allowed the Second Congress of the SDA to turn into a farce.
I think that Atif Dudaković is the greatest Bosnian warrior, and Emin Pivić and Hamdo Abdić are the brightest examples of how to love and defend one's homeland. I think that a good part of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian media works on the orders of foreign intelligence services and that it would be good to bring Miljenko Jergović back to Bosnia. I think that Haris Silajdžić is a model of Bosniak intellect and that in his last few appearances in the Bosnian media, he has definitively shed the mortgage of a narcissistic and "difficult" politician.
I think that a law should be passed in the Federation whereby every private employer would be obliged to set aside a certain financial compensation for one demobilized unemployed soldier. And it doesn't matter at all whether what I think is correct or whether it matters. Let someone else determine the truth and seriousness of this text.
The fight continues
Well, so that my family is not slaughtered again in Srebrenica in twenty years, so that my relatives are not expelled from Brčko and Bosanski Brod, so that my relatives from the Banja Luka region are not sent to wash linens in the hotel laundries of the state of Illinois, all because of their belonging to Bosniak identity and Islam, so that my beautiful people are not made a mockery of and so that drunken Englishmen do not trample the flag, I will continue my fight. I don't know what the outcome will be, but I know that I will have a clear conscience because I will at least be fulfilling my obligations to God and my people.
Shame on those who can do the same, but do not.
Emir Hadžihafizbegović
