SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A drone spotted over Frankfurt Airport caused general confusion and flight cancellations.
Frankfurt Airport is one of the busiest airports in Europe and the headquarters of the German company Lufthansa.
As announced by air traffic control and the police, the incident occurred at 12:00 PM when they noticed a drone and immediately suspended landings and takeoffs, Euronews reports.
The runways were reopened an hour later.
Passengers posted on social media that landings were diverted to other airports, including Nuremberg.
Frankfurt is the fourth busiest airport in Europe, after London Heathrow, Paris CDG, and Amsterdam, with around 180,000 passengers per day.
