Draža Mihailović in the center of Gacko: Returnees shocked and demand removal of graffiti

Nationalist slogans, pictures of war criminals, and graffiti insulting Bosniak returnees can often be found in the smaller BiH entity, writes the Patria News Agency.

Returnees to Gacko, as well as those visiting this town, were unpleasantly surprised by the image of Draža Mihailović, the leader of the Chetniks in World War II, painted on a wall in the very center of the town.

The graffiti of a convicted war criminal, a Serbian general and commander of the Chetnik movement during World War II, surprises and frightens returnees, especially since graffiti of Ratko Mladić, a war criminal from the aggression against BiH, under whose command members of the Army of Republika Srpska committed genocide in Srebrenica, stands nearby of the same size.

- It is impossible not to notice this graffiti. What kind of message is this for us returnees. We don't know why the municipality doesn't do something and remove both him and Mladić – says one returnee for Patria, who also sent a photo of the controversial graffiti.
