Draža pitted them against each other: Chetniks and Partisans facing off

In front of the Palace of Justice in Belgrade, where the proceedings for the rehabilitation of Dragoljub Draža Mihajlović are continuing, a large number of his supporters have gathered with banners, singing Chetnik songs and chanting, reports the Patria News Agency. 

Opposite them, a few opponents of the former general of the Yugoslav Army in the Fatherland have gathered, who are chanting against his rehabilitation.

A large number of police officers are securing the gathering, deployed in cordons to prevent conflict.

Among the audience in the large courtroom number one of the Higher Court in Belgrade are the leader of the Radicals Vojislav Šešelj, Princess Jelisaveta Karađorđević, as well as other public figures.

At today's hearing, the closing arguments are expected from the proponents of rehabilitation, who believe that Mihajlović did not have a fair trial, after which he was sentenced to death.

The sentence was carried out on July 17, 1946.
