The last winter days almost ended fatally for a snowboarder who on Tuesday fell into a natural pit about eight metres deep on Mount Bjelašnica, after snowboarding on parts that were not groomed, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
The young man was snowboarding down Bjelašnica but did not heed warnings and regulations, so he went to parts of the mountain where he should not have been. At one point, he did not see the deep natural pit and ended up at its bottom in just a few seconds.
He was rescued by members of the Mountain Rescue Service from Sarajevo. The young man was pulled out of the pit shortly after 4 p.m. He did not suffer any serious injuries, reports NAP.
