Dragan Bursać receives new death threats

Banja Luka journalist and columnist Dragan Bursać has again received threats via social media, reports Patria news agency.

Bursać received a terrifying message via Facebook because of an article published on Al Jazeera titled “I was silent while Bihać was shelled” in which he reminds the public in Republika Srpska of what the siege of Bihać looked like and how some soldiers even celebrated when a student dormitory in Bihać was shelled.

Terrifying threat sent to Dragan Bursać via Facebook

- Do you want to write something, Dragan? FB asks me. I do! Dear Facebook, everything is repeating! Hate, evil threats, intimidation. Dear Facebook, I spent the whole day at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. We are hanging out. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is literally like a safe house for me. Instead of working, they are again advising me to "get away". Until when and where? I'm fed up, but the fight continues because otherwise, even the little meaning in this meaninglessness will be devoured. Is that freedom??? – Bursać wrote on his Facebook profile after receiving the threats.

Dragan’s wife, Vanja, said that everything happening to the Bursać family is terrible, but they will not give up the fight on the right path.

- The “man” who would rape me and our unborn child, and "take off" my wife’s head, and wrote it publicly under his full name and surname, lives and works in the state service in our immediate vicinity. After the investigation is completed, I will publicly release the details, so it is known what kind of evil and fascism lives around us. Let his female colleagues, mother, sister (if she has one), girlfriend, female friends read what he is capable of doing and publicly boasts about. To be clear, Dragan and I have the choice and the possibility to live far from Bosnia and Herzegovina. We created that exclusively through our work, effort, sacrifice, education, and investment in ourselves. Our choice was to stay here. Aware of everything that it brought and is bringing, we do not regret it because this is our country. Legal regulations, the criminal code exist, and things WILL have to be moved from a standstill. We will report every threat. We will persevere in that arduous process. We are sincerely and immeasurably grateful to all the people who are our endless support – Vanja Bursać stated.

This is the second threat Dragan Bursać has received in less than a month. Bursać received the first threat after he wrote the text “Is Banja Luka celebrating the Srebrenica genocide?” on the eve of the announced rally in support of Ratko Mladić in Banja Luka on July 11, the day commemorating the anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.
