Dragan Bursać nominated for European Press Prize 2018

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Banja Luka journalist and columnist for Al Jazeera Balkans Dragan Bursać has made it to the shortlist for the European Press Prize 2018 in the category "Opinion (Columns)".

This year, the European Press Prize received more submissions than ever before, making the honour bestowed upon author Bursać even greater.

- I am truly extremely proud, I think this is a great recognition for the entire team - said Bursać.

Bursać's columns, which earned him a place on the shortlist, an exceptional recognition in itself, were published on the Al Jazeera Balkans portal and subsequently picked up and cited on numerous portals and social networks.

His text "The Third Execution of Boy Petar from Konjic", which has also been translated into English, made it into the final competition for the award.

The award ceremony will be held on March 18th this year in Budapest.

Since 2014, when Boris Dežulović won the award for his column published in Globus, "Vukovar, City Monument", no columnist from the former Yugoslavia has made it to the shortlist, making Dragan Bursać's nomination even more significant.
