Dr. Stevanović for NAP: Everyone has spoken out about the Gavrankapetanović case except the KS Medical Chamber

Everyone has spoken out regarding the events at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo (KCUS), even from Croatia, but the Medical Chamber of Sarajevo Canton is silent, Sarajevo doctor Dr. Dragan Stevanović told the Patria agency, after the management of the Sarajevo Clinical Center abruptly dismissed Dr. Ismet Gavrankapetanović from the position of Head of the Clinic for Orthopedics and Traumatology. That dismissal caused a major reaction among orthopedists across the region, as well as the world, who had the opportunity to collaborate with Dr. Gavrankapetanović on numerous projects.

Dr. Stevanović said that the president of the KS Medical Chamber should represent all doctors in the Canton, not just one side.

- That's what happens when debts are repaid to the boss - said Dr. Stevanović.

Dr. Raho Spahović, a pediatrician at KCUS, was elected head of the Medical Chamber in KS at the Assembly held at KCUS in January of this year. At that same Assembly, the president, prim.dr. Fahrudin Kulenović, was dismissed by the votes of the majority of members from KCUS. Dr. Stevanović had also resigned earlier. They pointed to the collapse of KCUS, which a large number of doctors left in a short period after Izetbegović's arrival. The case of the dismissal of the leadership of the Medical Chamber ended up in the Municipal Court.

KCUS claims that Dr. Gavrankapetanović was not dismissed but that his contract expired. 14 out of 18 doctors from this Clinic opposed the dismissal.
