Dr. Senadin Lavić, respected Sarajevo professor, new member of the Democratic Front

(Patria) - Today, Dr. Senadin Lavić, professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo, signed his membership application as a new member of the Democratic Front.

Professor Lavić was welcomed by Željko Komšić, President of DF, Dženan Đonlagić, Secretary General of DF, Hamed Hodžić, Executive Secretary of DF and President of KO DF KS, and Albin Zuhrić.

“It is easiest to sit on a neutral academic platform, observe, express dissatisfaction, surprise, and occasionally comment on events. The situation in the country is too serious, and I can no longer afford that luxury. Aware of all the risks, by joining the Democratic Front, I am entering the political arena, the only place where decisions are made that shape our country and future. Decisions that can prevent what we all fear are made there. This is no longer a time for neutrality, and it is up to each of us to make important decisions,” said Professor Lavić upon joining the DF.

“State-building policy, the idea of a civic state, the equal value of every citizen's vote in every corner of the country as a value formally recognized through all the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, and the direct contribution to activating the Membership Action Plan for NATO in 2019 are just some of the strategic determinants that led me to actively join the team of honorable, honest, state-building people in the Democratic Front, led by Željko Komšić, the current Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Professor Lavić.

“At this important moment of political struggle for the survival of our state institutions, we no longer have the luxury of sitting in the comfort and shade of the academic community. It is important that we get politically involved and that as many of us as possible contribute, so that Bosnia and Herzegovina becomes a democratic, civic society respecting fundamental human rights and freedoms,” emphasizes Professor Lavić.

Željko Komšić and Dženan Đonlagić emphasized that they are honored that the professor of the University of Sarajevo, Dr. Senadin Lavić, has recognized the pure and credible political idea, motive, and goals of the Democratic Front, where the state has always been above personal and party interests.
