Dr. Salih bin Humejd: Through Benevolence, Enemies Turn into Friends

Imam and khatib of Masjid al-Haram in Mecca Dr. Salih bin Humejd led the Friday prayer and delivered a khutbah at the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

- Benevolence elevates the benefactor and spiritually enriches him. Thus, the benefactor is the first to do good to people even if they have not done good to him. On the contrary, he rises to a higher level when he repays their bad deed with benevolence - said Dr. Salih bin Humejd. 

- Repaying a bad deed with benevolence is a useful remedy in dealing with people and the best means for improving people and awakening iman in their hearts. Through benevolence, enmity turns into friendship and hatred into love. Benevolence is a cure for a bad deed and a way to draw out goodness from people. It eliminates hidden hatreds, so enemies turn into friends.

Dr. Salih bin Humejd, who is the Chairman of the Administration of the Two Holy Mosques and former President of the Consultative Assembly (Majlis al-Shura) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is on a multi-day visit to the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On Thursday, he attended the opening of a mosque on Koševsko brdo in Sarajevo, on Friday he visited the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Sarajevo, led the Friday prayer and delivered a khutbah at the Begova Mosque, and on Saturday he will visit the Tuzla Muftiship, writes NAP.
