Dr. Ramadan: For those who return to the Lord with heart and soul, this life is just a test

For those who are focused only on this life, it becomes suffering, says Dr. Tarik Ramadan in the 16th installment of Ramadan Chronicles, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

- We are in the second half of Ramadan and today we will recall some important facts. In all the first revealed surahs and verses, and these first revelations are placed at the end of the Quran in order, Allah (God Almighty) mentions death and life after life - says Dr. Ramadan.

According to him, we can draw four important life lessons from this.

- The first is to be aware that we will not stay in this world and that it will end sooner or later. As stated in the Quran: "Everything on Earth is perishable. Only what remains is your Lord." It is necessary to be aware of the time limitation we have in this world - he points out.

The second message is, as he states, that one day we will be asked about what we have done in this world.

- The third message is that this life has meaning, we are not here just like that. In Islam, the meaning of our life is precisely known: "To Allah we belong and to Allah we return!". And the fourth message is that there is Jannah - paradise as a reward for those who believe and do good deeds. A special reward is seeing Allah and His closeness, and the prayers of believers are known: "God, we ask You to grant us the desire to see You!" - says this Islamic thinker.

As he points out, this prayer seeks the highest degree of reward, and it requires the one who offers it to strive for the highest level of faith.

- As Muslims, we should be aware that death exists, that this life will end. For those who are focused only on this life, life is suffering. For those who return to their Lord with heart and soul, this life is just a test - concludes Dr. Ramadan, saying: Don't forget to tell those you love that you love them!
