Dr. Ramadan: A believer plans and does what they can, but reliance on Allah is the key to success!

A believer plans and does everything they can, but ultimately reliance on Allah (SWT) is the key to all success, says Dr. Tarik Ramadan in the 23rd part of Ramadan Chronicles, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).   

- Like all prophets before him, Muhammad (PBUH) was exposed to trials, but like them, he held onto principles and never lost his direction and the right path in his life. One of the difficult decisions and important events in his life was leaving Mecca when there were no longer prospects or possibilities to stop all the attacks and torture of Muslims - says Dr. Ramadan.

According to him, that journey, the Hijrah, was strategically planned for almost two years. Muhammad (PBUH) even asked one of the non-Muslim leaders for help in leaving the city, which shows that Muhammad (PBUH) respected the competence and abilities of others, regardless of their religion.

- We must recognize and respect this as Muslims today, because we cannot just work within our communities without cooperation with others. This was also the path of the Prophet (PBUH), who was open to others and knew how to solve problems - he adds.

While leaving Mecca and going to Medina, enemies followed the Prophet (PBUH), and he and his friend Abu Bakr hid in a cave at the entrance of which a spider had woven its web in a short time. When the pursuers saw the spider's web at the entrance of the cave, they thought no one was inside, and Muhammad (PBUH) and his friend were saved.

- Abu Bakr was scared, and the Prophet (PBUH) comforted him with the words: "Do not be afraid and do not grieve! What do you think of two, with Allah (SWT) being the third with them?" So, the Prophet (PBUH) planned everything, did his best to succeed, and in the end, a spider's web protected him from his enemies. The message I want to emphasize here is that no matter what our abilities are, we must rely on Allah (SWT) and know that with Him, everything is possible - emphasizes Dr. Ramadan!

That is the way, he states, to avoid arrogance and pride and to understand the fundamental meaning of our path.

- While we fast and pray to Allah (SWT) to help us, to purify and perfect us, to bring us closer to Him, we must understand that we should do everything in our power to succeed, but in the end, success comes only from Allah, the One and Only. This is how the Prophet (PBUH) acted and planned, relied only on Allah, and was protected - concludes Dr. Ramadan and says: don't forget to tell those you love that you love them!
