Dr. Ramadan: The Quran Opens Our Hearts and Minds

Nothing is impossible with Allah's power. When you feel powerless, something will come that you don't know how or from where, because there is always hope with Allah, says Dr. Tarik Ramadan, a renowned professor from Oxford and one of the greatest Islamic thinkers in Europe, reports the BH news agency Patria (NAP).

In his 20th Ramadan chronicle, Dr. Ramadan speaks, among other things, about the power of the Quran, God's revelation.

- Just as the community of Muslims grew at the beginning of the revelation, so did the attacks and difficulties against them increase. This is what happens in our lives. Sometimes you are full of energy and enthusiasm, and then suddenly difficulties arise. We must face and solve various problems. Then we must energize ourselves – he says.

The same happened to Muhammad (pbuh), whose mission lasted 23 years. Attacks and rejection were his constant companions, and he strove to help and protect other Muslims.

- We will cite an event when Omar (RA), before he accepted Islam, and was known for his difficult nature, set out to kill the Prophet (pbuh) who was at his sister's house. Approaching his sister's house, he heard the recitation of the Quran, specifically Surah Ta-ha: "Ta Ha. We have not sent down the Quran to make you suffer, but as a reminder to those who fear Allah." He stopped then. Omar, who had been against the Prophet (pbuh) for years and was even ready to kill him, was changed by one chapter of the Quran – says Dr. Ramadan.

Omar (RA) then accepted Islam and became one of Muhammad's (pbuh) closest friends and a righteous caliph.

- This shows that you never know what might happen and that nothing is impossible even if you don't expect it. Everything is possible with Allah's power. When you feel powerless, something will come that you don't know how or from where, because there is always hope with Allah. Also, it is important to emphasize the power of the Quran. It opens our hearts and our minds. As Muslims, we must realize that by reciting the Quran, we are closer to our hearts, and when we are closer to our hearts, we are closer to the possibilities and potential of life. Nothing is impossible with Allah's power! – he emphasized, adding the words: Never forget to tell the people you love that you love them!
