Dr. Ramadan: Fight for the principles of truth in every situation

Through Ramadan chronicles, fasting day by day, through examples from the Prophet's biography, we strive to understand the connection between time and space, environment and people, says in a new installment of his Ramadan chronicles, Dr. Tarik Ramadan, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

As he says, even in his youth, before his prophethood, Muhammad (pbuh) was known by the nicknames Es-Sadik and El-Emin, which mean truthful and trustworthy.

- He had a quality that set him apart from other people, and which other people recognized and loved in him. In this way, the importance of upholding dignity, fighting for the principles of truth and trust, whatever the situation, is emphasized. Because of these qualities, the Prophet was chosen for the mission of delivering revelation to humanity, "Indeed, you are of the most exalted character!" - says Dr. Ramadan.

According to him, Muhammad (pbuh) applied the principles of honesty and integrity always and to anyone.

- The case of Zayd, the Prophet's companion and slave, is well-known, when his parents called him to return home after a battle. Muhammad (pbuh) said that Zayd should decide for himself. When asked if he wanted to return home or stay with the Prophet (pbuh), he said, "I prefer to be with Muhammad." The mere fact that a slave chooses to be with his "master" speaks volumes about how kind and noble the Prophet (pbuh) was towards people. After that event, the Prophet (pbuh) made Zayd a free man - emphasizes Dr. Ramadan.

We must, as he said, be trustworthy people and people of truth, striving, especially while fasting, to be moral and worthy of the example of the Prophet (pbuh).
