Doctor Bakir Nakaš, former director of the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš", demands in a letter, which he sent via social media to the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Elmedin Konaković, to urgently stop the further deterioration of the healthcare system in Sarajevo Canton, reports the news agency Patria.
- Stop the devastation of Sarajevo hospitals under the slogan "we need reforms", because these same hospitals are ours and belong to the citizens – wrote Dr. Nakaš.
The newly appointed director of UKCS, Dr. Sebija Izetbegović, announced the closure of the General Hospital „Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš“, which sparked sharp criticism from the public. At the same time, since taking the helm of UKCS, Dr. Izetbegović has been replacing heads of certain departments and appointing new ones. Doctors say she is appointing loyalists.
The long-time head of the Pediatric Clinic at UKCS, respected professor Senka Mesihović-Dinarević, sister of former UKCS director Dr. Rusmir Mesihović, has also been dismissed.
„Stop the devastation of Sarajevo hospitals under the slogan "we need reforms", because these same hospitals are ours and belong to the citizens“.
„Stop the illegal dismissal of proven staff who have preserved and improved the clinics and institutes of UKC Sarajevo“
„Stop the mobbing of people who have performed and are performing their duties with full responsibility and on the principles of the Hippocratic Oath“
„Stop the incompetent on their path to ruin even what was working in healthcare, because you will be personally responsible for the resulting consequences“, wrote Dr. Nakaš in the letter to Prime Minister Konaković.
