Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradawi: The Jihad Propagated by ISIS is a Dangerous Exaggeration in Religion

Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradawi (88), President of the International Union for Muslim Scholars (IUMS) and President of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, stated that ISIS and similar organizations have attracted Muslim youth from many countries under the pretext of jihad for the benefit of Islam and Muslims, but in reality such an understanding of Islam and such a "jihad" is extremism and a dangerous exaggeration in religion against which Muslims must fight, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

The self-proclaimed caliph, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Dr. Qaradawi said, was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, always had aspirations for leadership, and because of that, after being released from prison, he joined the extremist organization ISIS.
