The candidacy of Dr. Mustafa Cerić for the member of the Presidency of BiH is an act and decision of a free citizen in a democratic system. Moreover, he has all the credentials for the position he is running for, said Slovenian mufti Dr. Nedžad Grabus for the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).
Although, he says, many question Cerić's political engagement because he was the reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community, he sees nothing controversial in it. Ultimately, citizens will, he explains, decide who will be the Bosniak member of the Presidency of BiH.
- In a dictatorship or communism, this would not be possible. But the Constitution of BiH has no restrictions for this type of engagement. Neither the personal nor the professional capacity of Dr. Mustafa Cerić is questionable. He has all the credentials for the position he is running for - said Dr. Grabus.
- Many question his engagement because he was the reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community. However, citizens will ultimately decide who will be the member of the Presidency - he added, writes Patria.
