Dr. Gavrankapetanović receives support from colleagues: Re-elected Head of Surgery Department

Prof. Dr. Ismet Gavrankapetanović has gained the trust of his professor colleagues and has been re-elected Head of the Surgery Department at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in Sarajevo, it has been confirmed for the Patria agency.

This decision, made by Dr. Gavrankapetanović's colleagues through secret ballot, is yet to be confirmed at the session of the Teaching-Scientific Council of the Faculty of Medicine.

Besides Dr. Gavrankapetanović, the candidate for this position was also Dr. Dželaludin Junuzović, who enjoys the support of the Director of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo (KCUS), Dr. Sebija Izetbegović.

"This election confirmed that Dr. Gavrankapetanović enjoys respect among his colleagues due to both his expertise and his humanity," said one of the professors from the Faculty of Medicine, recalling that in the past few months, Dr. Gavrankapetanović has been targeted by Director Izetbegović, who dismissed him from the position of Head of the Clinic for Orthopedics and Traumatology at KCUS. Dr. Gavrankapetanović also announced his departure from this hospital.
