Dr. Cero: Construction of HE Vranduk is an excellent move, but those deserving of this project were not invited to Zenica

Citizens of Zenica, and especially those from the Nemila river basin, have reason to be satisfied with the final commencement of the HE Vranduk construction works, said Dr. Ibrahim Cero, president of the City Council of SBiH Zenica and the list holder for the Zenica City Council in the upcoming elections, writes the Patria News Agency.

However, he reminded that this project was initiated by SBiH cadres and slowed down by an unprecedented political harangue from the very same people who are now beaming and ceremonially cutting ribbons in function of achieving personal and party promotions.

It is strange, but also expected, that the people deserving of this project were neither invited nor mentioned on this occasion. It should be known that this Vranduk project was just a pebble in an halted energy project that would have made BiH energy independent today and certainly ranked it among significant energy exporters in the region and beyond.

It is clear that political spin doctors are at work once again, as in the case of Željezara Zenica.

If the "sin" of SBiH and its leader Dr. Haris Silajdžić was unrecognized visionary leadership accompanied by a step out of bureaucratic-party rigid stereotypes, then the ultimate success justifies the price paid, but it does not forgive the citizens of BiH for the stolen progress, states Dr. Cero.
